It was found that intravenous administration of HMGB-1 and S100A8 recruits bone marrow-derived cells to the skin ulcer site and promotes healing of the skin ulcer. In the brain of a cerebral infarction model mouse, bone marrow-derived cells expressing a neuronal marker were observed in the brain in mice to which HMGB-1 was intravenously administered after the creation of cerebral infarction. Regarding the effect of reducing the cerebral infarction focus, a marked improvement effect was confirmed in the HMGB-1 intravenously administered mice as compared with the control. Regarding the survival rate after cerebral infarction, the survival rate increased in the case of intravenous administration of HMGB-1. When the involvement of bone marrow pluripotent stem cells in the fracture healing process was confirmed using mice, it was shown that bone marrow-derived cells far from the damaged site migrated to the fracture site to repair the damaged tissue.
