METHOD OF DIRECTIONING A WELL DRILLING OPERATIONS USING STRESS MEASUREMENTS IN ROCKY MATERIAL, DIRECTION SYSTEM OF A WELL DRILLING OPERATIONS USING MEASURED STRESS OPERATIONS IN THE MATERIAL STORE INSTRUCTIONS FOR DIRECTION OF WELL DRILLING OPERATIONS USING STRESS MEASUREMENTS ON ROCK MATERIAL. A targeting method for drilling a well based on the direction of stresses present in the rock material. The method includes obtaining well data from at least one profiling tool during well drilling, where well data includes stress direction information, generation using a central processing unit (CPU), a well using well survey data, where the well trajectory includes the direction of a drillhole, determine, using the CPU, a minimum horizontal stress direction using well data, and compare, using the CPU, the minimum horizontal stress relative to the borehole direction to determine if a directional criterion is not being met. The method also includes in response to the determination that the directional criterion is not being met, the generation of an updated well path that meets the directional criterion, and the adjustment of the drilling operation using the updated well path.
