Method for fixing hinges and other metal work to window or door profiles, characterised in that the method comprises the steps of providing openings (19) such as bore holes in the profile (1,2), at least partly introducing a clamping system (8) through the aforesaid opening (19), and moving and/or tilting at least a part of the clamping system (8), crosswise to the feeding direction, such that this moved and/or tilted part of the clamping system (8) reaches up against at least an inner rib (15) or another reinforced zone inside the profile (1,2).
