The invention relates to a power plant and a process intended to process industrial and/or domestic solid waste with a view to obtaining a gas to be employed for producing energy by means of a gas turbine and/or a steam turbine, where the products of combustion are processed and discharged. According to the invention, the power plant comprises a fuel supplied plasma reactor () which produces pyrogas, an energy producing unit () with a gas turbine and/or a steam turbine supplied with pyrogas and/or oil and a combustion product discharge unit () wherein there is placed a carbon dioxide separation unit () which is connected by means of some pipes to a receiving unit () of an algae bioreactor (), an outlet () of the receiving unit () being connected to a carbon dioxide inlet () into the algae bioreactor (). The process claimed by the invention consists in producing pyrogas from industrial and/or domestic solid waste which is fed into the plasma reactor (), said pyrogas being supplied to the energy producing unit () wherefrom the combustion products are led to the combustion product discharge unit () where the carbon dioxide is separated from the exhaust gases coming from the energy producing unit () and is fed into the algae bioreactor () which uses in operation artificial and/or natural light.
