A method for predicting postoperative wound healing complications comprises the determining of blood sedimentation rate, white blood cell count, platelet count, C-reactive protein levels in patients who require surgical intervention. A level of ceruloplasmin is determined in the blood and when it is below the value of 98% of the lower limit of normal value, the postoperative wound healing complications are prognosed.
