TECHNIQUE FOR UNILATERAL SPINAL ANESTHESIA

A technique for unilateral spinal anesthesia is provided in lateral position of the patient on the non-affected side. The space between the spinous processes of lumbar vertebrae 2 and 3, 3 and 4 is located by palpation. The spiral needle is administered until kinestatic sensation. Then 10 mg of Bupivacain is administered as hypobaric solution. Following the administration of the drug, the patient is kept for 15 minutes in lateral position. Then the patient is transferred to the position required for the surgery.
