An in situ method for repairing a pipe or a tank in a hot melt, with a step of placing an electrical heating element, the heating element comprising electrical conductors, and with a feeding step for drivers with a suitable electrical power. The supply of the electrical conductors is made according to a regulating panel established prior to repair and setting corresponding to different hot melt materials and different types of damage to be repaired, at least one technical characteristic of the conduit or reservoir, a characteristic of electrical energy to be applied and an application time profile of the electrical energy. The invention also relates to a device for repairing in situ a conduit or a reservoir in a hot melt, according to this method.
