The present invention specifies a novel protein carrier for a peptide for therapeutic use and provides a series of techniques using the aforesaid carrier.Provided is a drug comprising a fused protein wherein apolipoprotein AI or a modification thereof is bonded via a peptide bond to a peptide for therapeutic use, said peptide for therapeutic use being the active ingredient. The drug according to the present invention has a long half-life in blood, shows little possibility of antibody production and can be orally or transmucosally administered. The aforesaid modification may be a partial fragment of apolipoprotein AI, a polypeptide containing 1 to 6 amphipathic sequences, an amino acid variant, a mimic peptide or the like. As an example of the peptide for therapeutic use, glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) can be cited. Also provided is a drug wherein a lipid is further bonded to the aforesaid fused protein to form a protein-lipid complex.
