Disclosed in the present invention is an air inlet system capable of improving rotational flow capacity and volumetric efficiency in an engine air cylinder comprises an air inlet channel (5), an air inlet door (6) and a combustion chamber (1) with grooves (3) on the wall surface. The part of the combustion chamber wall surface where the air inlet door passes is divided into a grooving part and a shielding part. The part of the combustion chamber wall surface where the air inlet door passes at the opening early stage is grooved, and the part of the combustion chamber wall surface where the air inlet door passes at the opening middle to late stage is shielded. The grooving part is no larger than one second of the total lift of the air inlet door. The air inlet system is convenient in use, simple in structure, low in manufacture cost and capable of generating rotational flows and ensuring the volumetric efficiency.
