METHOD AND DEVICE FOR IMPLEMENTING UNIVERSALITY OF BOOT PROGRAM FOR EMBEDDED DEVICE

Disclosed is a method for implementing universality of a boot program for an embedded device, comprising: distinguishing universal hardware from non-universal hardware; allocating a data structure for the non-universal hardware, generating a configuration parameter file corresponding to the data structure, and configuring the codes of the boot program according to the data structure; linking the configuration parameter file and the codes of the boot program as image files, placing the codes for the boot program in a boot program section in the image file, and placing configuration parameters in the configuration parameter file in a parameter section in the image file; initialising CPU and the universal hardware by the codes of the boot program, and initialising the non-universal hardware by the configuration parameters and the codes of the boot program. A corresponding device is also provided.By the method provided by the present invention, a universal boot program can be used for the initialisation of hardware having different peripherals, reducing the efforts for maintaining the boot program and improving the extendibility of the boot program.
