Provided is a speed reducer breakage state-informing device used to inform the state of breakage of the speed reducer of a machine provided with the speed reducer and a lubricating oil deterioration sensor for detecting the deterioration of lubricating oil in the speed reducer. The speed reducer breakage state-informing device comprises: a breakage state-informing section which informs the state of breakage of the speed reducer; a threshold value-setting section which sets a threshold value for information provided by the breakage state-informing section; and a lubricating oil temperature-receiving section which receives the input of the temperature of the lubricating oil. When the color difference between a detected color and a predetermined color reaches the set threshold value, the breakage state-informing section informs the state of breakage of the speed reducer, the state of breakage corresponding to the threshold value. The threshold value-setting section sets the threshold value corresponding to the temperature of the lubricating oil.
