The work train (1) has a cutting device (3) having a machine frame (5), a cutting rotor (8) for milling off the ground surface (9) and a conveyor (10) for transport of the milled material to transport container of a transport device (2) that is independently movable with respect to cutting device. A sensor device (12) determines and monitors the distance between the cutting device and transport device. A control unit (13) processes distances determined by the sensor device. A signal output unit (15') is controlled in dependence on the determined distances by the control unit. An independent claim is included for method for determination and monitoring of spacing.
