By means of this blood pressure measuring device, the amplitude and frequency of the voltage applied to a piezoelectric pump are determined (S181, S183, S189, S191, S151, S152, S156, S157), control is performed such that the determined amplitude and frequency are applied to the piezoelectric pump (S184, S153), a blood pressure value is calculated on the basis of the cuff pressure detected by a pressure detection unit (S154), the amplitude of a prescribed voltage and a determined control frequency are applied to the piezoelectric pump (S153), the relation during application of the prescribed voltage to the piezoelectric pump between the cell voltage and the cuff pressure is acquired, said cuff pressure being the cuff pressure detected by the pressure detection unit when the control frequency has been changed, and the control frequency of a portion in the graph showing the acquired relation that has a large distance relative to the graph showing the relation if the control frequency had not been changed is determined and set as the initial control frequency of the pressurizing process (S184-S191). In the cuff pressurizing process, the piezoelectric pump can be driven easily and efficiently.
