PURPOSE: A moisture absorption diagnosis method of a water cooling generator stator winding and a device thereof are provided to determine moisture absorption doubt or whether or not of moisture absorption, thereby increasing accuracy of a moisture absorption diagnosis. CONSTITUTION: Capacitance is measured by using a moisture absorption sensor for a folding unit of a generator stator core. The measured capacitance is inputted to a computer. Moisture absorption doubt or whether or not of moisture absorption is determined by using at least one of a normal distribution method, a normal probability method and a BPM. The measured capacitance is analyzed by comparing the same with the capacitance stored in a memory. The capacitance for each location is compared and analyzed with coils nearby a coil which moisture absorption is doubted.
