PURPOSE: Application of sequence hopping and orthogonal covering codes to uplink reference signals is provided to optimize DMRS(demodulation reference signal) multiplexing in advanced user terminals, legacy user terminals, and advanced user terminals.;CONSTITUTION: Each multiple sequence is selected from a set of sequences according to a hopping pattern. Multiple RSs are transmitted without the application of an OCC(orthogonal covering code). The multiple RSs are transmitted with the application of OCC while each multiple sequence is identical. The OCC has one or more positive elements and one or more negative elements.
