PURPOSE: A method and apparatus for transmitting a sparse signal, and a method and apparatus for recovering the sparse signal are provided to form a simple structure of hardware by compressing a target signal based on a sparse binary matrix.;CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for recovering a sparse signal receives a measurement signal with a noise signal from a sparse signal transmitting device(S310). The measurement signal is a signal in which the noise signal is added to a target signal which is measured in a binary measurement matrix. The sparse signal recovering apparatus calculates a likelihood probability of the target signal by using posterior probability based on a relation of the target signal and the measurement signal. The sparse signal recovering apparatus performs a mutual update process for updating the posterior probability using the calculated likelihood probability(S320).
