PURPOSE: A device for measuring the height of surveying instrument comprising a tripod, a tribe rack, a tribe rack adaptor, and a GPS antenna is provided to regulate a laser distance measuring device by using a cable, thereby preventing radio interference and the hand shaking of an operator. CONSTITUTION: A device for measuring the height of surveying instrument comprising a tripod, a tribe rack, a tribe rack adaptor, and a GPS antenna comprises a laser distance measuring unit and a controller(600). The laser distance measuring unit irradiates laser beams, thereby obtaining the height of the surveying instrument. The controller generates control signals for correcting error values caused by the hand shaking of an operator when obtaining the height of the surveying instrument. The laser distance measuring device comprises a connection unit, an interface unit, a sensor unit, an error correcting unit, a communication unit, and a display unit. The connection unit forms a groove of a spiral shape and the groove is joined to a receiving unit of the tribe rack so that the connection unit connects the tripod and the tribe rack. The interface unit is connected to the surveying instrument and controller. The controller comprises a receiving unit(620), a determining unit(630), and an adjusting unit(640).
