PURPOSE: A height measuring device for a surveying instrument compensating for a signal delay value by using a GPS antenna is provided to prevent user hand shake or radio interference by controlling a laser distance measuring device. CONSTITUTION: A height measuring device for a surveying instrument compensating for a signal delay value comprises a tripod(100), a tribrach(200), an adapter(300), a GPS antenna(400), a laser distance measuring device, and a controller(600). The tripod is supported on the surface of a surveying location by three legs(110). The tribrach is received through an accommodation unit arranged in the lower part of the tripod. The adapter comprises three joining projections and central projections. The GPS antenna receives a frequency signal from a GPS satellite, thereby confirming the position of the surveying instrument. The laser distance measuring device emits lasers, thereby obtaining the height of the surveying instrument. The controller generates controlling signals to revise errors caused by user hand shake while obtaining the height of the surveying instrument.
