PURPOSE: A method for calculating the charging amount of a vehicle battery is provided to prevent an increase of charging amount errors caused by battery property variation.;CONSTITUTION: A main controller receives current battery information such as charging amount, a battery current, and a battery voltage from a battery controller(S11). The main controller determines whether the current charging amount is less than the standard charging amount by comparing the current charging amount with the standard charging amount(S12). The main controller compares an alternator generation rate with a preset generation rate reference value(S13). If the alternator generation rate is less than the reference value, the main controller compares the current battery current and voltage with each reference value(S14,S15). If the battery current is less than the reference value and the battery voltage is more than the reference value, the main controller counts a time from now on(S16).
