PURPOSE: A system for tracing and detecting a topic based on socially influential people and topic opinions and a method thereof are provided to monitor the reactions of social members to a specific topic by extracting the topic opinions and the social influential people from content. CONSTITUTION: A topic opinion analyzing device(100) extracts a topic opinion from content on the Internet. A knowledge database(200) stores a topic-opinion database(210) and a topic-social influential person(220). A topic detecting and tracing unit(300) detects an opinion about a detection request target topic based on the knowledge database. The topic detecting and tracing unit searches for a social influential person for the target topic. The topic detecting and tracing unit collects and analyzes content generated or provided by the searched social influential person.
