PURPOSE: A negative electrode current collecting copper foil for a lithium ion secondary battery is provided to suppress the separation of a negative electrode active material from a negative current collecting copper film, thereby obtaining an excellent lithium ion secondary battery with excellent cycle properties. CONSTITUTION: A negative electrode current collecting copper foil for a lithium ion secondary battery comprises a copper film(11) which consists of copper or copper alloy; and deposited particles(13a,13b) attached to one side of the copper film. The average particle diameter of the deposited particles is 0.4 micron - 1.0 micron. The number of the deposited particles is 150-650 per 100 micron^2.
