PURPOSE: A data relay system using a single channel, and a method thereof are provided to enable a base station to communicate with terminals which are not located in an available communication area of the base station. CONSTITUTION: A control unit(140) controls a wireless communication unit in order to be changed into a communication mode including a reception type slot and a transmission time slot. A purpose terminal selection unit(150) analyzes a data packet received from another terminal in a search mode. The purpose terminal selection unit selects a first terminal as a purpose terminal. The purpose terminal selection unit registers the analyzed data packet in the selected first terminal. When the purpose terminal selection unit is able to communicate with the base station, the purpose terminal selection unit sets the base station as the purpose terminal.
