PURPOSE: An ISG(Idle Stop and Go) control device of a vehicle with an automatic transmission and a control method thereof are provided to confirm the hydraulic pressure charge state of a hydraulic pressure storage unit by checking a fixed position of a piston when the idle stop of the vehicle is required, and to enter the idle stop state of the engine only when hydraulic pressure is sufficiently charged.;CONSTITUTION: An ISG(Idle Stop and Go) control device of a vehicle with an automatic transmission includes a hydraulic pressure storage unit(100), an ISG system(300), a position detecting unit(170), and a control unit(200). The hydraulic pressure storage unit stores oil which is supplied from an oil pump in a state in which an engine is started, and supplies the stored oil to the power transmission when the idle-stopped engine is restarted. The ISG system performs the engine idle stop and restart according the driving information that includes car speed, brake pedal effort, and change gear steps. The position detecting unit provides the information of the quantity of the stored oil by detecting an accumulation piston in the hydraulic pressure storage unit. The control unit performs the idle stop by operating the ISG system in case the quantity of stored oil in the hydraulic pressure storage unit, which is judged based on the information of the position detecting unit when the information is determined as the idle stop, is the normal quantity of the stored oil.
