PURPOSE: A device for measuring the displacement of a main shaft in a machine tool is provided to regularly maintain the absolute position of a displacement sensor measuring the thermal displacement of the main shaft by forming a displacement space which is separated at a predetermined gap to elastically deform a preloading unit with an outer ring according to the thermal displacement of the main shaft.;CONSTITUTION: A device for measuring the displacement of a main shaft in a machine tool comprises an annular retainer, an annular sensor housing, and a displacement space. The retainer includes a support unit and a preloading unit. The sensor housing includes a fixing unit and an inserting unit.
