PURPOSE: A solar cell including a ZnO single crystal nanorod and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to obtain a low reflectivity in a visible region by applying the ZnO single crystal nanorod as an antireflection layer. CONSTITUTION: A semiconductor electrode includes an antireflection layer formed on a substrate. The antireflection layer is a metal oxide layer including ZnO. The ZnO is a ZnO single crystal nanorod. The ZnO single crystal nanorod is grown with a thermal deposition method or a wet method. A counter electrode is formed to face the semiconductor electrode.
