PURPOSE: A production method of a magnetic nanoparticle coated with carbon is provided to form a carbon coating layer on the surface of the magnetic nanoparticle using a solvent containing a non-toxic metal precursor and carbon for maintaining magnetic property and improving chemical and thermal stability. CONSTITUTION: A production method of a magnetic nanoparticle coated with carbon comprises the following steps: dissolving a metal precursor in a solvent containing carbon to obtain a metal precursor solution; irradiate the metal precursor solution with ultrasound to produce a magnetic nanoparticle containing carbon; segregating the magnetic nanoparticle containing carbon from the metal precursor solution, and drying; and heat-processing the magnetic nanoparticle containing carbon to obtain a magnetic nanoparticle coated with carbon. The ultrasound is irradiated in the intensity of 2-200 kHz for 1-12 hours. The drying is conducted for 3-12 hours at 50-80°C. The heat-processing is conducted for 3-12 hours at 200-800°C.
