PURPOSE: A location determining method of a fast fourier transform (FFT) window in an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) system and OFDM receiver are provided to perform an optimal symbol timing synchronization by setting starting location of FFT window corresponding to a last arrival path. CONSTITUTION: A location determining method of a fast fourier transform (FFT) window in an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) system is included inside the OFDM signal (110); and is comprised to restore an OFDM symbol which includes a guard interval and a data interval. A first location corresponding to a first arrival path and a second position corresponding to a last arrival path among multiple path fading channels are detected (S100) base on the OFDM signal which is transmitted through the multiple path fading channels. The starting location of the FFT window is set up (S300) in order to be included within the guard interval based on the first location, the second position, and the length of the guard interval.
