PURPOSE: A propulsion device for a ship and a ship having the same are provided to enable the easy installation thereof by installing a housing of a reverse bevel gear on the stern of a hull.;CONSTITUTION: A propulsion device for a ship comprises a front propeller (10), a rear propeller (20), and a reversing and rotating unit (30). The reversing and rotating unit is composed of a housing (31), a rotary shaft (40), a drive bevel gear (33), a driven bevel gear (34), and one or more reverse bevel gears (35). The driven bevel gear is supported to the inside of the housing to be rotated and is connected to the hub of the front propeller. The reverse bevel gear reverses the rotation of the drive bevel gear and transfers the reversed rotation to the driven bevel gear. The reverse bevel gear can be inserted into the housing through a gear mounting hole formed in the housing.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2013
