PURPOSE: A calculation method of a material quantity for production of steel structures based on computer data of structural analysis and an apparatus thereof are provided to generate shape data that is compatible with a general-purpose program and use the shape data in outputting a detail drawing and an assembling drawing for improving efficiency in design. CONSTITUTION: An input unit (10) receives data of structural analysis and creates a database storing data about a standard and a quantity of reinforcing steels required for joining and connection of members according to a standard of each member, which are used for the structural analysis. A member information setup unit generates virtually defined shape information of a member using member information defined in the data of structural analysis and sets characteristic information of each member including a connection order of each member. A joint shape information generation unit (30) generates joining shape information corresponding to a member joining generated according to an initial setting condition referring to the database.
