PURPOSE: A carbon-based aluminum composite material having silicon carbides on the surface thereof and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to obtain an aluminum composite material with low thermal expansion rate and a high thermal conductivity by removing aluminum carbide or aluminum oxide. CONSTITUTION: A carbon-based aluminum composite material has silicon carbides on the surface thereof. A manufacturing method of the aluminum composite material comprises the steps of: melting an aluminum alloy containing 1.6-16.0wt.% of silica components at a melting temperature of 650-900C, pressurizing the molten aluminum alloy at a pressure of 40-120 MPa, and impregnating the aluminum alloy in a formed carbon body or a sintered carbon body(S20,S30).
