Natural Gas Methane Number Control System for Duel Fuel Engine

PURPOSE: A system for controlling methane numbers of town gas for a dual fuel engine is provided to operate a dual fuel engine by properly adjusting the supply amount of carbon dioxide even when the components of LNG are different. CONSTITUTION: A system for controlling methane numbers of town gas for a dual fuel engine(180) comprises a mixer(150), a gas valve unit(170), a mixing gas line(401), a dual fuel engine, an inert gas component analyzer(210), and a methane number controller(220). The mixer is connected to an inert gas supply line(101) and LNG line(301) to mix inert gas with LNG. Gas mixed in the mixer flows into the gas valve unit. The mixing gas line connects the mixer to the gas valve unit, and mixed gas flows along the mixing gas line. The dual fuel engine is operated by fuel supplied from the gas valve unit. The inert gas component analyzer analyzes the methane number of the mixed gas. The methane number controller controls a flow control valve(140) depending on the analyzed methane number.
