The invention crushing, pressing and sintering powders such as low suitable for the preparation of ultrafine tungsten carbide by metallurgical relate to a method for producing a hard metal which is pressed by the pressing force. The method of 90% or less of PEG and high molecular weight (C12 ~ C20 or less) saturated or unsaturated fatty acids, or Al, Ba, Ca, Co, Cr, Mg, N, Na, V, Zn, preferably Co, Cr, N, V, or 10 to 75% by weight of a salt containing one or more of the elements of Zn, preferably involves the use of a pressing agent of 1-3% by weight comprising a mixture of 25-50% by weight . Preferably, the particle size of the cemented carbide powder is ultra fine. In a preferred embodiment, the method comprises using a ball mill or other suitable dry-grinding method with grinding of cemented carbide formed body before the wet milling step of about 2 to 45 hour pre-milling the dry powder of the WC hard component over. Invention also relates to the powder obtained by the method.
