PURPOSE: A vehicle wheel alignment inspection method based on oval vision characteristics is provided to distinguish a target plate including an oval-shaped characteristic point by using two cameras and to obtain the position alignment state of a vehicle tire three-dimensionally close to a real state based on the distinguished target plate, thereby performing the position alignment variable inspection. CONSTITUTION: A vehicle wheel alignment inspection method based on oval vision characteristics is as follows. A computer (50) operates luminous bodies arranged in both sides of a horizontal beam (20) which is extended to left and right sides of a central column (10) so that lights are irradiated on target plates (60) mounted respectively on a wheel planar surface of a vehicle tire which is positioned on a lift platform. The computer controls a camera (40) so that the camera continuously photographs the target plates while the computer moves a vehicle back and forth. The computer confirms coordinates of a central point of oval-shaped characteristic patterns included in the target plate based on photographic data input by the camera, thereby establishing the coordinates of the target plates. The computer calculates planar coordinates of a vehicle body based on the coordinates of the target plates, calculates a diameter of the tire, a toe angle, and camber angle based on the information of the planar coordinates of the vehicle body. The diameter of the tire is calculated by using the information of a radius of the tire obtained when calculating the planar coordinates of the vehicle body.
