PURPOSE: An automatic wheelchair navigation system and a method therefor are provided to enable a user to safely move to his or her destination. CONSTITUTION: An automatic wheelchair navigation system comprises an automatic wheelchair navigation device (100) and a vehicle boarding device (200). The automatic wheelchair navigation device can navigate a wheelchair based on a destination and a direction in linking with a differential global positioning system. The vehicle boarding device controls a lift for lifting a wheelchair and a hood according to a signal transmitted from the automatic wheelchair navigation device and is coupled to or released from the wheelchair.
