FIELD: process engineering.;SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metal forming and may be used in aircraft engineering for making billets of vanes with two butts or with one butt and retaining flange. Heated billet is placed in container between two half-female dies of the mould with channel. Note here that part of the billet is arranged at lower male die to deform the billet so that neck is formed by closing of said half-female dies. Then, one of buts is formed by displacement of lower male die upward after stopping said half-female dies. Billet is extruded via mould channel by upper male die at displacement of lower male die downward. Note here that billet part is left in container to form variable-section forged piece diverging toward billet part left in said container.;EFFECT: expanded range of forged pieces, higher metal use factor, higher strength.;2 dwg
