FIELD: chemistry.;SUBSTANCE: invention relates to low emissivity coatings. The low emissivity coating includes, in order outward from the substrate, a first dielectric layer; a first catalysing layer; a first silver layer; a first absorbing protective layer containing nickel oxide and chromium oxide and 15-60 at % oxygen; a second dielectric layer; a second catalysing layer; second silver layer; a second absorbing protective layer; a third dielectric layer; and optionally, a top coating layer. The coatings are applied by magnetron sputtering.;EFFECT: obtaining low emissivity multilayer systems, characterised by low solar heat gain coefficient (SHGC), enhanced aesthetics, mechanical and chemical durability, and a tolerance for tempering or heat strengthening.;35 cl, 12 ex, 14 dwg
