Filter system for fluids, comprises a container (1) filled with vegetable charcoal as a filter layer, where a bottom (3) of the container comprises a drain (4), a device for supplying the liquid, a device for supplying fresh vegetable charcoal, and a device for extracting vegetable charcoal. An independent claim is also included for producing fertilizers, comprising providing a filter layer made of vegetable charcoal in a filtration system; passing a liquid derived from biomass through vegetable charcoal; removing the coal vegetable charcoal from the filter layer; and using the vegetable charcoal as a fertilizer or as a raw material for fertilizer.
