The photovoltaic system has series-connected photovoltaic modules (2), and switching devices (3) provided between two adjacent photovoltaic modules. The electrical connection between adjacent photovoltaic modules is interrupted by the switching devices. The switching device is provided with a relay. An electronic circuit is provided for triggering shift operation of the switching devices.
