The system (1) has a steering gear (2) with an inlet for a steering wheel shaft and an outlet for an output shaft (3). The shaft is rotated during rotation of the steering wheel shaft around an output shaft angle (Delta A). An electric drive motor produces supporting drive torque. A mechanical acting unit e.g. counter element and stopper element, defines the output shaft angle. The stopper element is arranged at the wheel shaft, and the counter element is arranged in a steering housing (20). A servo gear is driven by the motor, and the stopper element is in contact with the output shaft. The steering gear is formed as a hypoid gear or bevel gear.
