The brake (1) has a brake pad (4) comprising a friction lining (9) and a lining carrier (8) and arranged between a brake disk (2) and a brake piston (6) that is guided in a piston guide (5). A heat insulation layer is applied to a rear side (20) of the carrier, where the side faces the piston. A damping layer is arranged between the insulation layer and the piston. The insulation and damping layers are designed as separate heat insulating bodies (19). A damping plate (15) is connected with the piston and comprises a rubber or gluing layer (16) that is covered by metal plates (17, 18). The separate heat insulating bodies are designed as phenolic resin bodies or zirconia bodies, and the heat insulation layer is formed as a ceramic layer. The piston guide is designed as a cylindrical cavity.
