The brake-by-wire type electro-hydraulic brake system (2) comprises a brake actuating element (8), and a brake master cylinder (14). A simulator (20) is hydraulically connected with a displaceable simulator piston (26), in an actuation direction (34) against a spring element (32). An actuator position sensor and a pressure sensor detect an operation by the brake actuation element for expressed desire to brake. A pressure source (40) is controlled for setting up of brake pressure, where a blocking actuator (120) is provided with a movable drive device locking element.
