Fast rotating clinostat (1) for weightlessness simulation, comprises a receptacle (5) for receiving organisms (11) or substances, which is driven rotatably around an axis, a radiation generator (13) for generating optical radiation, and a radiation receiver device (17) for detecting or sensing optical radiation. An independent claim is also included for examining organisms in simulated weightlessness condition, comprising (a) rotating the organism for the simulation of weightlessness, (b) treating the organism with a luminescent substance, (c) irradiating the organism and the luminescent substance with the optical radiation during the simulation of the weightlessness, and (d) detecting or sensing luminescent radiation imitated by the luminescent substance.
