The switch has switching contacts separated from each other for opening the switch by rotating a switching shaft. Cylindrical switching shaft modules (11) are rotatably fixedly connected with each other by a connecting unit for transferring a torque. The connecting unit includes a cross-shape intermediate element (13) i.e. intermediate piece (13a), and recesses (12) cooperating with each other. The recesses are formed at front sides of the modules and extended along a rotational axis of the shaft. The intermediate element is inserted in the recesses facing towards each other.
