The circuit arrangement (1) has an inlet (10) that is connectable with a voltage supply source (11) and an activation element, where voltage is fed between the inlet and an outlet (20) by using the activation element. The outlet is connectable with a switching element (18) to switch a current flow between the inlet and the outlet. A limiting element (16) is aligned to limit the current flow between the inlet and the outlet. The limiting element is aligned to break the current flow between the inlet and the outlet depending on the voltage existing between the inlet and the outlet. An independent claim is included for a method for controlling an electrical or electronic component, particularly a voltage source as a battery pack.
