The valve has a valve element (3) displaceably and/or rotatably guided in a guide bore (1) of a housing part (2). An inlet (4) is connected with an outlet (5) by axial displacement and/or rotation of the valve element. The inlet and the outlet are designed as radially guided holes. The holes are arranged relative to each other in an axial distance and/or an angular distance, and simultaneously closed by axial displacement and/or rotation of the valve element. The valve element is designed as a hollow cylinder. An independent claim is also included for a fuel injection system.
