Device for producing dry ice, comprises: a feeding device for liquid carbon dioxide, which opens into an expansion chamber, where the feeding device and the expansion chamber are designed and adapted for generating dry ice in the expansion chamber; and a conveyor screw arrangement, which is arranged in the expansion chamber, and is designed and adapted for conveying the dry ice formed in the expansion chamber, from the opening of the feeding device in a direction of an outlet end for dry ice, comprising a first screw (2a) and a second screw (2b), which are meshed with each other. Independent claims are also included for: (1) a dry ice application device, which is transportable, comprising the above device; and (2) producing the dry ice using the above device, comprising supplying compressed, preferably liquid carbon dioxide into the expansion chamber, adjusting the process parameters such that dry ice is formed in the expansion chamber, and conveying the obtained dry ice from a feed end of the expansion chamber in the direction of the outlet end for dry ice, using the conveyor screw arrangement.
