The camera (1) has a selection unit (7) that selects picture area (9,18) in which an infrared (IR) image (8) is obtained. An image analyzing and processing unit (10) is provided to perform image analyzing and image processing for selected picture area. The selection unit is provided with a segmentation unit (11) for automated selection of picture area. The image analyzing and processing unit is provided with an adjustment unit (19) for adjusting a color or grey value palette for remaining IR image.
