The lateral fixing (10) comprises a base part (11), for connecting the lateral fixing with a cross beam. A fixing part (12) realizes an effective connection of the lateral fixation with a bearing block and a structure carrying the cross beam. The fixing part extends in a lateral direction (L) and is connected with the base part. The fixing part is projected in the lateral direction with a cantilever arm (14) and the base part. The cantilever arm protrudes in the lateral direction adjacent to bearing block and to the support structure. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) a motor vehicle seat with a seat part; and (2) a method for implementing a secure fixation of a bearing block from a supporting structure.
