The hybrid sensor has an acceleration sensor element (2) and a wheel speed sensor element (3) which are arranged in a common housing (4), and are contacted with circuit board (5) in common housing. The common housing is fastened at wheel carrier of motor vehicle. The acceleration sensor element acquires the acceleration in vertical direction and provides the sensor signal. A control unit performs optimized suspension damping control and recognizes defect of tire based on stored data and the sensor signals. An independent claim is included for a motor vehicle.
