The method involves determining or predetermining a driving route to be driven by a vehicle (10). Recuperation events are determined depending on the driving route. Cruising range of the vehicle is determined depending on the driving route, the recuperation events and environmental conditions e.g. temperature, lightness, intensity of sun exposure, wind and precipitation, on the driving route. Usage of an electrically operated light source of the vehicle is considered during determination of the range of the vehicle. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a device for determining cruising range of a vehicle (2) a vehicle.
